Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 22, 2026

Chainblock Financial (“Chainblock,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the crypto-specialized practice of AKIF CPA, a licensed CPA firm based in Houston, Texas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use chainblock.financial or engage us for tax, accounting, or advisory services, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you contact us, schedule an intake call, or engage our services, you may share your name, email, phone number, mailing address, entity type, prior-year tax returns, wallet addresses, exchange exports (CSV / API), brokerage statements, identification documents (for KYC), and any other information necessary to perform the engagement.

Information collected automatically. Our website logs standard request metadata (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL) for security, analytics, and performance.

Cookies. We use first-party cookies for site functionality and may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g., aggregated, IP-anonymized). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your data.

2. How We Use Information

  • To perform tax preparation, accounting, advisory, and audit-defense services for which you have engaged us.
  • To communicate with you about your engagement, respond to inquiries, and send invoices.
  • To comply with applicable law, including IRS, SEC, FinCEN, and state regulatory requirements.
  • To improve our website and services (aggregated, non-identifying analytics only).

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing.

3. Confidentiality Under CPA Professional Standards

As a practice of AKIF CPA, all client information is treated as confidential under the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct (Rule 1.700.001) and applicable state Board of Accountancy rules. We disclose client information only with your consent, in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or as otherwise required by law.

4. How We Protect Information

We use encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest for documents stored in our practice-management systems. Access to client data is restricted to engagement team members with a need-to-know. We use multi-factor authentication on all administrative systems. Wallet addresses, exchange API keys (read-only when provided), and tax documents are stored in encrypted client portals.

Despite these measures, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We comply with applicable breach-notification requirements.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use vetted third-party tools to perform our services, including: tax-preparation software (Drake / Lacerte / UltraTax, as applicable), Koinly and similar crypto-tax aggregation tools, Google Workspace for email, encrypted client portals, and payment processors. Each provider is selected for compliance with appropriate data-protection standards and is bound by confidentiality.

6. Retention

Tax records are retained in accordance with IRS and state record-retention requirements (generally seven years) and AICPA professional standards. After the retention period expires, records are securely deleted or de-identified.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal and professional record-retention obligations.
  • Opt out of any non-essential communications.

To exercise these rights, email info@akifcpa.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.”

8. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active clients in writing.
